  1. GO TO THE DEPARTMENT AND REVIEW THE EVALUATOR'S CORRECTIONS! Before writing an appeal, familiarize yourself with the tests to make a decision about whether to write an appeal.

  2. WITHIN 3 WORKING DAYS SINCE RECEIVING THE GRADE DECIDE ON THE NEED FOR AN APPEAL!

  3. GO TO THE STUDENT SERVICE (Dzirciema street 16, K-100)

  4. CHOOSE THE RIGHT RECEIVER!

    • The appeal must be addressed to the head(s) of the academic structural unit (department), which consists of the lecturer who has evaluated the examination. To find out the department represented by the lecturer, go to rsu.lv and enter the lecturer's name in the search engine!

    • Important! If the appeal is about the last possible passing of the semester or final examination, it must be addressed to the dean of the faculty!

    • The Student Service employee or any RSU SU representative will also help you find the right department!

  5. INDICATE THE REQUIREMENT!

    • In the application indicate:

      1. The study course in which an examination has been taken;

      2. Is the test a semester test (colloquium) or a final test (test or exam);

      3. The date on which the test was taken;

      4. Exam evaluator (You can find out the exam evaluator by contacting the department, your lecturer or in the E-studies section “My grades”);

    • Important! Remember to indicate what you want to receive if the appeal is approved (decrease or increase the grade)!

  6. RECEIVE THE DECISION OF THE COMMISSION OF APPEALS WITHIN 5 WORKING DAYS!

    • The chairman of the Commission of Appeal will inform you of the time and place of the meeting of the Commission of Appeal, as well as the right to attend the hearing and provide explanations.

    • Within five working days, the Commission of Appeal shall examine the claim and give responsibility or claim and approve it. The protocol of the commission member will be sent to you.

    • Important! Persons who have evaluated the examination may not participate in the Commission of Appeal! The Commission of Appeal shall consist of at least three persons.

 

Remember! 

  1. The appeal must be submitted 3 days after receiving the grade (except for the State Examinations);

  2. The appeal of the State Examination may be submitted until the end of the next working day (at 17.00), from the moment when the assessment is announced;

  3. The Commission of Appeal may not have a lecturer who has previously evaluated the examination.
