The 6th Council meeting

The 6th Council meeting took place on 15th April. During this meeting were both elected new student representatives and was looked at the execution of the quarterly budget and SU strategy, as well as other issues related to RSU SU were discussed.

At the beginning of the Council meeting, 3 new student representatives were elected. Rihards Seržāns, a second-year student of the Faculty of Medicine, joined the SU Board team and will perform the duties of the Assistant to Head of the Academic Affairs. Lauma Gulbe, a first-year student, was elected as a councilor of the Faculty of Law, while Laura Polanska, a first-year student, was elected as councilor of the Faculty of Communication.

Congratulations to all the newly elected and we wish you strength in your responsible positions!

As a next point, the Council considered the nomination of Lāsma Reisa for the position of LSA Head of Internal Affairs, which was also granted, and already on April 17th, at the LSA Council meeting, Lāsma Reisa was elected to this position.

At the continuation of the meeting, student delegates to the RSU Constitutional Assembly, as well as members of two commission members were approved. Jenna Vähäviita, Assistant to Head of the Medical Science Direction of the ISA Board, joined the Scientific Support Funding Commission, and Signe Zutere, a member of the Council, joined the Project Competition Commission.

This year, the organizers of the inter-university forum "KUBS" decided to extend the event from four to five days, thus requesting additional funding for participants to cover the costs of another day. After all the questions were answered by the project manager Alise Pokšāne, this request was approved, and the budget will be increased to provide an additional day for the delegated participants of RSU SU and other universities.

After a long work with the job description of the translator / interpreter, it was also confirmed with few discussions on the exact wording of the job description.

As several months have passed since the Board was operating in 2021, the implementation of the RSU SP Strategy, its process, and the use of the RSU SP budget in this quarter were also discussed during this meeting of the Council.

Traditionally, the last, but no least important item on the agenda were the reports of the RSU SU and ISA Board on the work started and completed in March and April.

At the end of the Council meeting, Ance Mistre, the first year student of the Faculty of Rehabilitation, was recognized as the most active member of RSU SU of the month. Congratulations and thank you for your active involvement!
