The Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Center (BMC) is the leading research institution in molecular biology, biomedicine and biotechnology in Latvia. Since its founding in 1993, BMC has developed into a strong scientific center, conducting both basic and applied research in five main areas: human genetics and mechanisms of disease pathogenesis, cancer research, biotechnology and structural biology, molecular microbiology and virology, molecular pharmacology.

BMC has a significant basic infrastructure for molecular and cell biology research. Qualified specialists can provide competent advice, as well as provide technical assistance in the planning and implementation of various experiments, in addition, these services are available not only to BMC researchers, but also to those working in other scientific institutions.
