Review of the meeting with the rector's team

On Wednesday morning, February 17, a meeting was held between the Rector's Team of Rīga Stradiņš university (RSU) and the Board of the Rīga Stradiņš university Student Union (RSU SU). It discussed current issues related to the study process, scientific activities, infrastructure and other important issues among students.

The conversation was started with questions related to the study process. One of them concerned the course of distance learning, more specifically, the rotation of different study year practices. In April, it is expected to launch an electronic application, the evaluation will be based on grade ratings and the amount of volunteer work.

Practice rotations will be organized to ensure safe conditions. It is estimated that students who have been vaccinated will return first in April, while those who have not been vaccinated will be provided with regular Covid-19 tests. Details on their implementation and application will follow.

The Rector's team was asked an important question related to the study process - paid residency. The position of the university is as follows - fees and budget places in residency studies need to be balanced. In the block of scientific activity, a lot of activity is taking place in the implementation of the new doctoral model. Currently, everything is still in the development process, but the admission of students is planned for 2022/2023. academic year.

It is also important to mention that e-learning is used to apply for vertically integrated projects in microbiology, ergonomics, environmental well-being and psychological help. In terms of infrastructure improvement opportunities, significant changes are expected at the “Taurene” sports base, where the construction of a football field will soon begin.

Thanks to the Rector's team for a productive conversation! May the cooperation continue as successful and efficient!
