This year, on September 30 and October 1, the "Science Seminar" took place in the premises of the business incubator "B-space" of Rīga Stradiņš University, the purpose of which was to provide students with the knowledge and necessary skills to start and implement research work, as well as to stimulate interest in involvement in scientific in action.
On the first day of the seminar, the participants were addressed by lecturers - Mirdza Kursīte, Inga Znotiņa, Prof. Jānis Vētra and department representatives Prof. Dzintra Kažoka, Edgars Edelmers, Prof. Zanda Daneberga, Dace Rezevska, doc. Dace Reihmane with various topical issues - from the selection and structuring of the research topic to current opportunities to participate in research activities.
At the end of the first day, in the premises of the business incubator "B-space", there was an exchange of stories about work in science, where the participants of the seminar could ask questions and participate in the discussion. Afterwards, there was also an "Evening of those interested in science", where the participants could learn more about the activities of the RSU SU Science Affairs, future projects and plans.
On the second day, the participants were addressed by Lilija Banceviča, who shared her experience of starting a research path. Lecturers Līga Pūsepa and Aija Tumova informed about science funding opportunities and talked about presentation skills. On the second day, lecturers from the Business Incubator presented the participants with their activities, experiences and success stories.
At the end, a simulation of submitting a research paper was prepared for the participants, in which the participants performed various tasks in groups, involving both newly acquired and general skills.
