Endocrinology Student Interest Group
The Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases Student Research Group is for medical students who want to learn more about diseases and conditions related to the endocrine system and metabolic disorders.
The aim of the club is to encourage and facilitate students to independently explore and specifically focus on endocrinology and various forms of substance-related diseases and other areas related to endocrinology and substance-related diseases.
Theoretical sessions will be held once a month, where the group will develop independent papers and presentations on a specific topic, which can then be presented to the audience and other members of the group and visitors. At the end of each session, students will take a Kahoot test and answer 14 questions to test their knowledge. Prizes will be awarded to the 1st-3rd place overall winners at the final session of the year. Each session will be accompanied by the endocrinologist Dr Ingvar Rasa, the mentor of the group, who will also invite guest mentor(s) who are particularly knowledgeable on the topic to give their opinion and share their experience with the students. In addition, practical sessions will be organised to allow members and visitors to learn more about different methods of disease investigation.
At the end of each academic year, the most active members will receive a certificate of attendance if their attendance represents at least 75% of the total number of meetings, and will have the opportunity to participate in the election of a new leader.
The monthly meetings, upcoming conferences and news will be available on the Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases Circle Facebook page.
