Pharmacy Student Interest group

The Pharmacy Student Interest group will focus on the practical aspects of pharmacy, including drug research and analysis.

Participants will have the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of the different areas of chemistry and pharmaceutics, but also to develop practical skills by working in laboratories in the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry (and possibly elsewhere) and by developing research projects. Some of the areas of activity will be chemistry (organic, inorganic, analytical, etc.), medicinal chemistry, various analytical methods for the analysis of drug substances and body fluids (including instrumental methods such as chromatography, spectral analysis methods), pharmacokinetics, biomaterials, drug delivery systems, phytochemistry and analysis of active substances isolated from plants/other organisms, toxicological chemistry, etc. This will therefore distinguish this group from the existing research group of pharmacology students. The practical work will give the opportunity to try out the above analytical methods for themselves, as well as to acquire other useful skills.
